Job Title:        Deputy Manager (Children’s Residential Service) 

Location:        Solihull, B92

Salary:            Up to £35,000, Sleep ins paid at £60 per night (where applicable)

Hours:            Average 40 hours per week 

Contract:       Permanent 

Make a difference to Children in our Care.  We are looking for a Deputy Manager for our new Children's residential home in the local community supporting Children/young people with EBD, LD or Mental Health needs.

Job Summary: 

As a Deputy Manager, you will

  • To maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, incl. The Quality Standards, Every Child Matters, the Children Act, other relevant legislation and guidance and company policy and procedure.
  • To represent the home to outside agencies and ensure compliance with the statutory requirements imposed by them and requirements of commissioners.
  • To support the manager to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children & young people and all staff.
  • To support to manage a quality service aiming to achieve a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating
  • To work with the wider management team to contribute to the planning and development of Care Perspectives and to provide management support to other areas of the service needing this.
  • To increase and maintain occupancy levels that both appropriate with the business needs of the service and needs of the young people placed.

Qualification & Experience

Essential Skills: 

  • UK Full Driving Licence 
  • Excellent communication 
  • Basic Computer Skills Essential 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within Children’s Residential Service

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Experience in Residential childcare (Minimum 3 years) - Essential
  • Qualified - Hold a Diploma Level 3 in diploma for residential childcare or equivalent – Essential
